Preproposal call for EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement Track-1

scienceandtechplancover.jpg

Interested Mississippi State University faculty are invited to submit preproposals for the Experimental Program To Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) Research Infrastructure Improvement Track-1: (RII Track-1) program through the National Science Foundation.

The EPSCoR program is coordinated through the Mississippi Research Consortium (MRC) and vice presidents for research at each of our state's four research institutions — Jackson State University, Mississippi State University, University of Mississippi/University of Mississippi Medical Center and University of Southern Mississippi.

Mississippi will be submitting an EPSCoR proposal for a five-year, $20 million ($4 million per year) NSF grant in 2013.

Mississippi State University has been the lead institution and fiscal agency for this grant since 1989.

Complete details about the preproposal process may be downloaded by clicking here. The Mississippi Science and Technology Plan may be downloaded by clicking here. The current NSF solicitation is online at http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2012/nsf12563/nsf12563.htm.

Please note that a cyberinfrastructure plan is required as part of the project description, but the enhancement of cyberinfrastructure does not necessarily have to be the focus of the research.

If you need additional information, please contact Assistant Vice President for Research Teresa Gammill at tgammill@research.msstate.edu or 662-325-3570.

A research theme will be chosen for the new proposal submission, and so preproposals are encouraged as the MRC moves forward with preparations for this submission.
