Quitman gets five-star asset assessment!

A team of folks descended on Quitman last week to conduct asset mapping, but Mayor Eddie Fulton probably didn’t expect such a diverse group. Of all the First Impressions and Asset Mapping visits I’ve been a part of, this one was the best yet. Representing the various agencies were: Mississippi Development Authority-- Joy Foy, John Brandon, Sharon Chalk, Penny Barrentine, and Angelica Rawls; Mississippi Main Street Association – Jeannie Waller; WIRED at Jones County Junior College -- Lela Bryan and Patrick Scoggin; Mississippi State Community Action Team --Jeremy Murdock and Virgil Culver; and Central Mississippi Planning & Development District – Mitsy Stubbs. What a great group of folks to work with!! Kudos to Penny Barrentine, who obviously worked hard beforehand and had the exercise about as well organized as it could have been. Thanks also to the mayor and his group of drivers/hosts who made the job an enjoyable and easy task. This is beginning to look a lot like "real working collaboration". Check back here frequently for the specific date of the First Impressions and Asset Mapping presentations.
